Why are we so afraid to legalize pot?

Leave the lung cancer argument out of it. There are other ways to use weed. Vaporizers and ingestion are two other methods. Why are people o.k. with cigarettes being legal? Why aren't people as up in arms over them? What about booze? The pitcher from Anaheim brings a recent tragic example. Please give an honest answer why you so against it. I would like if only those against the legalization of pot answer this. I can never find any informed responses. All Obama could say was no, but he gave no explanation either. As far as I'm concerned he can have his change back!
