Ipod 4th gen in washing machine?

ok so did my laundry and i found out my ipod was in it. i let it dry on the ledge for about an hour and i plugged it in but there was no back light, but the wheel worked and the ok on didn't work. i left it on to recharge but when i take out the usb it doesn't work. i decided to let it dry again on the window. how can i fix this?? oh and my ipod ran out of battery before it was in the washing Machine so is this a good thing?
