Why is there so much bitterness and polarization in American politics?

Because the government is flushing America down the toilet. Spending money we should not be spending. Doing nothing about the millions of people out of work. Cramming a health care bill down our throats we do not want. Not listening to the American people. The politicians in the government, are corrupt, arrogant and imbecilic for the most part, at least that is how they appear to us. The polarization comes from some people in the U.S. think because they are from within the same party, these actions are okay, and they agree with them.
