What should i take a family after someone has died?

I was needing to know what can i take to my neighbor's family to help out with the food since they have a huge family and a lot of kids and grandkids are there of all ages. My neighbor was 82 and died yesterday, i have known her for over four or five years now and she seemed like a grandmother to me in many ways. It hurt me when i realized that her health was going down because i knew this was going to happen. What should i take to the family for the meal? A cake? and if so what kind? Or a cerole? I do not mind making either one because she did so much for me.
