Honey, let me tell you something, having a baby is 50/50 and so should be everything else that you share together. You husband is being lazy and selfish. Even if he didn't do alot of picking up, he could at the very least take the baby off your hands so that you can get some things done that you would like to do. I don't think what you did was unreasonable at all if it is that bad. If this is the only way you can get through to him, then so be it. If he calls you on the phone bad mouthing and everything, tell him that you are busy and don't have time for the flack, basically what he is telling you. Hang up. Unless he is calling and has something positive to say, stick to not communicating unless it is relevant. He needs to learn that you are not going to stand for this, and that this is his baby too, and his home, and it is hard work that you do to keep it all together. Also, you will be going back to work also, so he should expect to chip in.
