Knee injury rehab, will this mess up my hurdles time?

I partially tore my meniscus 4 months ago, and at a recent trip to the doc, he said I could start light jogging on top of the rest of my rehab program. However, I'm afraid if I start jogging I'm going to train my body to use more slow-twitch muscles/endurance...and I'm a sprinter! Will this happen?
