How Do Some of You Men and Women Not Cry?

I always start getting watery eyes when someone says something serious to me about my life, school, or really anything serious. I'm a guy too, and I can hold back my tears in public sometimes, but not for long at all, so I run away, but anyways, I had my first ramble lol, but please give me advice how you guys cope and don't get teary or cry.
