Can I refuse Alpha Fetal Protein Testing (AFP)?

My Doc wants me to come in for AFP testing... I don't know about it, because they didn't pull it with my first pregnancy. I am on medicaid and they do pay for it, but I am unsure if I want it or not... What would you do???
