Yes he will be fine on short gr and two meals of concentrate per day. Buying an already balanced cubed food is probably the best option as you wont need to worry about making sure he has a balanced meal. I give my horse half a cake of lucern at night after his supper as well as a cake of hay. he also gets hay in the mornings as they only go out to graze at about 09h00.. (here in South Africa we keep our horses in late in summer due to African Horse Sickness).
